Registering a User Name

Why Register?

When you are visiting a forum you will want to register your user name. This allows you to keep the same identity while posting on the forums. You can also keep track of your post count, fill out a profile, receive notifications of new posts and subscribe to the mailing list.

On some boards replying or starting a new thread is reserved to registered users.

The most important advantage of registering is that you may always edit or update your posts, or remove them if outdated.

You also take part of the Instant Messaging system which allows you to receive messages without having to reveal your Email addresse.

When calling up The Psion Organiser Forum in a browser you will see a menu below the logo. Click Register.  You will be prompted for your desired user name, a valid email address and your location.

You will then receive an email with a temporary password (if your desired user name is available). Note that your email address is only visible to administrators unless you uncheck 'Hide email from public' in Profile.

After your first login you should go to your profile to change the password. On this occasion you may also choose the name to be displayed on your posts - this is not necessarily your user name.

You can then proceed to login!
