the contrast on the LCD on my LZ  is pretty good, quite a bit of range and no bleed through of the off pixels when the the contrast his high. however on my lz64 the range is extremly small and to get the characters visible in normal light leads to the background pixels being visible.

a couple of things.

1) is this a known thing with the lz64?

2) how hard is it to swap the lcd?

3) how hard is it to swap the /motherboard/ etc from one case to another? as i prefer the lz's case to the lz64's -- the lz64 is all plastic while the lz's is /metal/ on the lcd part.

and any suggestions on anything else i could do rather than swapping hardware to improve the display on the lz64?

1) not specifically with the LZ64, but with all org2. Seems to be an issue with the power board (prob. worn out diodes or capacitors)

2) Mayhem!

3) Relatively easy. There are disassembly instructions somewhere in this forum, just search (hint: googles site search is better than the forum one)

well after a bit of googling earlier and with your reply just now it looks like swapping the boards between cases isn't going to leave me with the lz's lcd on the lz64's "motherboard" so that isn't going to do much for me unfortunatly. maybe swapping the powerboards might help but looks like it's a soldering job and no guarentee that it'll succeed. guess i'll leave well enough alone for the time being then until become more familar with everything and then decide what to do (and maybe look for another lz64 as well)
