I was on YouTube today and on EEV Blog I saw the Organiser II mentioned. It turns out that Dave has had a look inside a CM and tried to make some sense of what he saw. Anyway, here's the link:
We only want the first part, but it is interesting. Especially note the lifespan of the Organiser II - I believe this, in combination with the fact that it can be programmed by non-corporate entities and ordinary people, is why it was and to an extent still is (here, anyway) so popular - you had a chance to try to make your own ideas a reality.
It is a considerably steeper learning curve for a person with no prior programming experience to begin to program on an Android or Apple device in my humble opinion.
