Transferring other files than text and OPL?

The COMMS menu sends text and OPL source files, but what about other file types?

Here OPL comes in. Using the command

   XTSEND:(TO$,FROM$,TYPE%)

other file types can be sent, and received again by using

   XTRECV:(FROM$,TO$,TYPE%).

The parameters TO$ and FROM$ are the filenames on the PC and Psion respectively, and TYPE% is the file type.

Here is a list of available types:

typeextension
0ODBNormal data file.
1OPLProcedure source file.
2OB2Diary file for the CM/XP.
3OB3Complete procedure file (both source and object code, if available).
4OB4Comms link set-up file.
5OB5Spreadsheet file.
6OB6Pager file.
7OB7Notepad file for the LZ.

As well as these, there are file types 8 to 15, which have extensions OB8, OB9, OBA ... OBF. These are not used by Psion, though various commercial programs do make use of these.

Hint: you may also enter the commands in CALC
     XTRECV:("pc-name","org2-name",int(type))
